WASHINGTON, D.C.: Iran's Revolutionary Guards said on September 8 that its forces had captured a U.S. unmanned underwater vessel near the entrance to the Strait of Hormuz. The claim has drawn attention to the growing use of autonomous underwater drones in military operations. Iranian state media identified the vessel as a Dive-LD, a large autonomous underwater vehicle developed by California-based defense company Anduril.

EVENDALE, Ohio: GE Aerospace will acquire Consolidated Precision Products for US$11.75 billion, bringing a major supplier of precision castings in-house as the company seeks to increase manufacturing capacity amid strong demand for aircraft engines, spare parts and defense products.
