In July 2026, Boyertown got a brand new cheesesteak shop with the opening of The Philly Jawn Cheesesteak. Philly Jawn is from the family behind Peppe’s Pizza and Grill in nearby Gilbertsville. While you can get a cheesesteak at Peppe’s, the two restaurants are very different.

Adalyn Rose 3rd Annual Duck Derby at Muhlenberg Township’s RiverFest
By Adalyn Rose Foundation READING, PA – The Adalyn Rose Foundation (ARF), a Reading-based nonprofit organization, will hold its third annual Duck Derby fundraiser this weekend at Muhlenberg Township’s RiverFest. With support from presenting sponsors Diamond Credit Union and Redner’s Markets, over $60,000 has already been raised for the foundation leading up to the weekend’ s festivities. Duck entries can be purchased online and in-person at RiverFest through Saturday evening.

Vision Resource Center of Berks County Offers Free Vision Screenings for Back to School
From Vision Resource Center of Berks County Vision Resource Center of Berks County is ramping up its year-round complimentary vision screening services as families prepare to go back to school. These screenings are available for children ages 6 months to 6 years as a preventative tool for detecting vision issues. In previous years, screenings across 65 local sites helped detect early signs of conditions ranging from cataracts to neuroblastoma, prompting families to follow up with a doctor.
