A first in data center fights: Energy company sues data center developer
In a first-of-its-kind fight over the public impact of data centers, Nevada's NV Energy has sued data center developer Tract over two planned campuses near Reno. The utility, which powers most of the state, is accusing the company of trying to pass costs onto consumers. The two planned data centers would together draw more than 2 gigawatts of power, nearly a third of the utility’s generating capacity.

Fully automated excavators deployed on construction jobsites
Bedrock Robotics announced this month that excavators equipped with its AI system are now operating fully autonomously on customer sites. Equipment outfitted with the technology is performing autonomous excavation at three sites: a Nevada-based water treatment facility in partnership with Sundt Construction, a multi-million cubic yard earthwork site with Champion Site Prep in Texas, and a 1.2 million cubic yard civil sitework project with Zachry Construction Corporation.
