Hello Cal fans, my name is Lamar Robinson. I’m originally from Northern Virginia, where I went to Hayfield Secondary School. I play offensive line for Cal. Growing up, it was me, my mom, my sister, and my older brother. None of them played sports, but I was always outside as a kid. I started out playing soccer, and as I got bigger, my mom put me in football. That’s when everything changed for me. I earned my first scholarship offer in high school, and that’s still one of my favorite memories.

Here is another part of our series focused on Cal’s most competitive position groups entering Fall Camp. Our fourth installment is centered on the wide receiver room: What makes this room one of the competitive position groups? Particularly given that two and perhaps three high-profile transfers may have already locked up starting roles? This is a position where the Bears will play no fewer than eight players.

The ACC released their preseason All-ACC Team over the weekend and while seven Bears were received preseason honors, there were no first or second team honorees and only two players on the third team, with the remaining five Cal players on the fourth team for the Bears.

Ron Rivera finalized a three-year contract with Cal earlier this month despite having served as his alma mater’s general manager since March 2025. As first reported by fellow Berkeley alumnus and San Francisco Chronicle sports reporter Ron Kroichick, Rivera — who signed a deal on June 16 — makes $800,000 annually and is officially under contract through the 2028 season; the three-year deal is retroactive to 2025.

Cal forwards Chris Bell and John Camden didn’t hear their names called by commissioner Adam Silver during the 2026 NBA Draft. However, the pair of one-year Golden Bears from the 2025-26 season will have their chance to make a name for themselves in the association. As undrafted free agents, Bell signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the New Orleans Pelicans, and Camden agreed to an NBA Summer League deal with the Washington Wizards. Neither forward is a Jaylon Tyson-type of wing.

This week, JKS under pressure, a way too early preview of Cal-UNLV, roster grades for new P4 coaches, college athlete compensation, behind the 247 composite rankings, Cal’s top recruiter, Bears in the NBA, and ACC football is almost here. JKS gets solid grades for 2025. The highest scores came at the most important times. Rolo’s QB has a high ceiling in 2026. I had a chance meeting at the Wynn-Las Vegas last week with three well compensated UNLV football players. How do I know?

The Bears continue to stack talent, with the addition of 3 star Folsom quarterback Brody Rudnicki‍ with his announcement of his commitment to Cal this morning. The 6-1/205 Folsom High School QB played as the primary backup to one of the nation’s top QB prospects in the country - Ryder Lyons.
