Firebrand goes back to 1864 for Cask Ale Week
Cornish brewery Firebrand Brewing Co. is celebrating Cask Ale Week by going back 162 years and brewing a 4.8% Traditional Pale Ale inspired by an 1864 recipe. The beer takes inspiration from a period of significant change in British brewing, when developments in brewing, cask conditioning, transport and distribution were helping to shape the more approachable beers we know and love today.
Fyne Ales Joins the Guild as an Industry Partner
A warm welcome and a thank you goes to Fyne Ales, the latest to support the Guild as an industry partner. Founded in 2001, Fyne Ales is an independent, family-owned brewery based on a working farm at the head of Glen Fyne in Argyll, on Scotland’s west coast. From its rural home, the brewery produces a wide range of characterful beers, from long-standing favourites including Jarl, Avalanche and Highlander to modern seasonal releases and small-batch brews.
CAMRA crowns outstanding heritage pub heroes
Grade II listed pubs North Star, Steventon, and Beacon Hotel, Sedgley, honoured with Heritage Pub Revival Awards CAMRA has honoured two sets of publicans for their immense efforts in reviving important heritage pubs, just in time for Heritage Open Week. Both the North Star and Beacon Hotel are Grade II listed buildings, and both appear on CAMRA’s National Inventory for having interiors of national heritage importance.
