This development amounts to yet another victory for the Trump administration as it wages a whole-of-government campaign to destroy what remains of the beleaguered field of pediatric gender medicine.

When New York City’s Mt. Sinai Health System reached a settlement with the Justice Department last week to keep its pediatric gender clinic closed, much of the public debate over why the hospital had capitulated focused on the Trump administration’s efforts to obtain patient records via subpoena.

When I was in the 7th grade in 1991, my terrific social studies teacher, Mr. Corkran, taught us what plagiarism was and why it was to be avoided at all costs. And importantly, he taught us strategies—which I still use today—for how to avoid even inadvertently plagiarizing, such as taking notes from another text only in paraphrase.
