Chillicothe, MO: Janet Collene Christian, 85, passed away peacefully after a short illness on July 6,2026 at Stonebridge Senior Living in Chillicothe, Mo. She was born in Bethany, Mo. to Charles “Bill” and Doris (Jerome) Huitt. Janet grew up in Eagleville, Mo before moving to Arlington, Texas in her high school years. This is where she started her family of 4 daughters and worked as a bookkeeper as well as management in the real estate business.

Bethany, MO: Cristy Elaine Clark, 72, Bethany, MO passed away Monday, July 13, 2026, at a Stanberry, MO nursing home. She was born on February 9, 1954, in Leavenworth, Kansas the daughter of Robert Lee and Elsie Colleen (Wright) Hartman. On February 6, 1999, she married Jimmie Clark in Bethany, MO. He survives of the home. Cristy was a graduate of South Harrison High School in 1972. She took several college credits at the St. Paul School of Theology.
Shirley L. Graham, 1935-2026
Mercer, MO: Shirley L. Graham, 90, Mercer, MO passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026, at a Princeton, MO nursing home. She was born on October 12, 1935, in Des Moines, IA the daughter of Arthur and Esther Graves. On September 23, 1966, she married Basil C. Graham, Jr. in Dakota City, NE. He preceded her in death on September 21, 2019. Shirley grew up in Des Moines and attended Lincoln High School in Des Moines, IA. She worked as a factory worker and a homemaker.

Some candidates gathered at the hall to share their views and earn votes during the evening’s event. Local man reports concerns over possible poaching outside of Bethany
Submitted photo The concerned citizen who wished to remain nameless provided a photo of one of the dead animals. He believes this was a random killing since another dead doe was found near by. Other people in the area reported hearing gunshots, early in the morning and at night. Bethany, MO: A concerned Harrison County resident, who asked to remain nameless, reported the bodies of two dead deer found in a field near the New City Lake outside of Bethany.
Robert Lee Hardin
Hazelwood, MO: Robert Lee “Bob” Hardin, 91, of Hazelwood, Mo., formerly of Maysville, Mo., passed away on July 10, 2026, at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri. Bob was born on November 18, 1934, in Fairport, Mo., to Chester and Evalena (Casper) Hardin. On November 3, 1956, he married the love of his life, Moneta Sue Morgan, in Pattonsburg, Mo. Sue preceded him in death on September 23, 2006. Bob was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Bill, Jerry, and John Hardin.
Two foreign nationals being held for ICE at Harrison County Jail
