LOCAL NEWS: £1700 theft from Tesco Ferndown sparks police appeal
Police are appealing to the public to identify two men following a theft from a supermarket in Ferndown. Over £1700- worth of stolen items were found in discarded jackets after the two men ran away from the scene. The theft in Ferndown happened on Tuesday 7th April 2026. At around 9:15am when a security officer asked the two men to stop at the Tesco in Penny’s walk but they fled the scene.

Newly published statistics show that Dorset continues to be one of the safest counties in England, and has reportedly experienced a decrease in overall crime. According to The Office for National statistics, overall crime in Dorset fell by 9.2 percent between 1st January 2025 and 31st December 2025.
LOCAL NEWS: Teenager in serious condition after West Howe knife attack
Dorset Police detectives are appealing for witnesses or footage of a serious assault in Bournemouth that is being investigated. A 16-year-old boy that had been in a knife attack in Bournemouth, the Maclean Road area on Sunday 26th April was taken to hospital for injuries that were believed to be serious. A full investigation is underway as two 17-year-olds from Bournemouth and Poole have been arrested and taken into police custody on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.
