Seka is a high-end Chinese brand (Shanghai) with all the right moves to propel themselves into the western world of cycling. While Winspace, Yishun, Dengfu, Hongfu and co are all interested in global expansion, it is not only in their brandnames holding them back… it’s the whole approach and this is exactly where Seka is lengths ahead. In Australia, Seka have already been picked up by CCache and internationally can be found at a handful of boutique dealers across Europe and Asia.
Abus Airbreaker 2.0 Helmet with Secure Sunglasses Feature
You don’t have to be a pro to look like one. The German ABUS has just celebrated 100 years since being their foundation in 1924 when August Bremicker and his sons started building padlocks. For home security and ‘mobility security’ they remain as relevant as ever. ‘Personal security’ for bike riders is still united with their mobile security solutions and they tackle a broad scorp from professional cycling (with Team Movistar Helmet sponsorship) through to everyday commuter helmets and locks.
14 speed rear derailleur and the (Chinese) groupset battle from below
A western doorway into Chinese bike brands was opened by China Cycling youtuber so that Ltwoo and Sensah are already familiar as up-and-coming groupset brands. Some of the members of the Australian cycling forum even gained some first-hand experience purchasing and installing parts from these young Chinese brands. Both Ltwoo and Sensah attended Eurobike in 2025 and were making a big statement with sizeable stands.
The QUIN helmet crash sensor with an analytical twist
There are a number of helmet crash sensors on the market today; Tocsen, Specialized Angi, ICEdot, TwiceMe and the Quin. Except for the TwiceMe, which operates under a different premise, the sensors are all designed to detect a crash and then trigger an alert, usually an emergency notification that is sent via the mobile phone. Generally these crash sensors are external hardware devices that are retrospectively affixed to a helmet.
Simon Clarke gets his perfect fit from GebioMized
Accomplished Aussie Pro Cyclist, Simon Clarke, currently riding with team Israel-Premier Tech, made a surprise visit to Eurobike in Germany, and dropped-in to the GebioMized stand. The German bike fitting specialists, gebioMized are the go-to fitters for top-level cycling teams including INEOS, AG2R and they support a host of pro cyclists, including Clarke. “I’ve been riding these inner soles for nearly 10 years now and the level of custom fit that they can do is amazing,” says Clarke.
Clever Puky NEXT balance bike designed to grow with the rider
At Eurobike, the worlds biggest bike show, you can hear whispers through the halls when there true innovation and when there is eye candy. The new Puky NEXT balance bike was one of the new products that captured attention because of a clever feature. At a glance, it is a stylish and nicely designed kids balance bike with a brake and kick-stand. With a colour palette that feels like a homage to the famous Bianchi celeste, the real feature is that parents who buy this get four wheels instead of two.
Orinno showbike, an eyecatcher with a catch or two
In between the Asian OEM brands in Hall 9 at Eurobike 2025, the Orinno ebike was an eyecatcher. The organic design is a bit like a Pinarello in overdrive. The carbon fiber frame has no seatpost or non-drive side seat stay. I could see an integrate electronic display in the handlebars and on closer inspection saw the a rear-hub electric motor. Certainly interesting, but reminded me of the love child of a beach cruiser and road bike.
Do cyclists need intercom solutions in their helmets?
At Eurobike 2025 in Germany, three brands promoted helmets with integrated microphones and speakers for rider communication. This is not a new idea, but it is noteworthy because three brands now feel that the technology is ripe and bike riders are ready to adopt this… but do cyclists need an intercom? When you are cycling in a bunch, your conversation partner is the rider next to you. You can have a great talk or just keep your mouth shut if you don’t have the energy, or don’t find them agreeable.
Faster Gravelling with the Apudura Aero System
Gravel biking used to be a lifestyle endeavour with the popularity, the level of competition has increased with events like Unbound Gravel proving the need for speed. Aerodynamic drag is one of the big limiters in competitive racing and UK brand Apidura have combined practical bike packing luggage with aerodynamic performance in their Aero System. Triathlon bikes really try to push the limits with farings so this feels very familiar, but also logical.
The battle of crank based power meters: Stages verses Inpeak
Back in 2013, Stages from Boulder, Colorado burst into cycling with affordable power meters at a time when other power meters such as SRM systems were inaccessible most and they gave “Power to the People” and quickly became popular. However there were quality control issues and a number of disappointed early customers. Tech reviewer, DC Rainmaker did a series of extensive tests with the Stages power meter and after the teething troubles had a fairly balanced view of Stages.
