Hybridization is predicted to occur most frequently in closely related species when one species is rare (scarcity of mates hypothesis) and when the rare species of a heterospecific pair is more likely to be female (sexual selection hypothesis). We studied hybridization in mixed breeding colonies of the Western Grebe (Aechmophorus occidentalis) and Clark's Grebe (A. clarkii) at Clear Lake, California, during 2011–2019.

Diet of Western Hog-Nosed Snakes (Heterodon nasicus) in Western Nebraska, USA
Abstract We studied the diet of Western Hog-nosed Snakes (Heterodon nasicus) that were captured opportunistically from 1988 to 2017 at a wetland complex in the Sandhills of western Nebraska. Only 30 of 92 snakes (33%) held food items (n = 33) in their stomachs, including anurans (3 cases), salamanders (2 cases), lizards (2 cases), turtles (22 cases, most as eggs), rodents (3 cases), and an unidentified vertebrate bone (1 case).

Dietary Resource Selection Pattern of Leopard (Panthera pardus) and its Conservation Implications in Urban Landscapes of Central India
Abstract Leopards exhibit adaptability and thrive in human-dominant landscapes by incorporating livestock into their diet. The present study was conducted to assess the prey availability and selection patterns of leopards (Panthera pardus fusca) in two urban landscapes i.e., Indore and Jabalpur, in India. The research aimed to understand the prey population dynamics and evaluate the impact of human activities on leopard behaviour.
