Here’s some good news: Jonathan Greenard was spotted warming up for the Philadelphia Eagles’ first regular season practice as the team prepares for their Week 1 game against the Washington Commanders. The team will issue a formal injury report later today but, for now, it’s good to see that Greenard is finally back on the field after missing the entirety of training camp due to the pec strain he suffered while while training.

The Eagles are just days away from their first game of the 2026 NFL regular season, and head coach Nick Sirianni spoke to reporters before practice on Wednesday. He talked about DeVonta Smith as a captain, what he likes from OL coach Chris Kuper and what advice he gave to OC Sean Mannion. He is notorious for keeping any perceived competitive advantage close to the vest, and that continues with him explaining he still has time before he needs to reveal who is QB2 behind Jalen Hurts.

Losing another Super Bowl to the Chiefs by three points sure wouldn’t be fun. I do think it would be cool to see a rubber match between these two teams. Same goes for a potential Super Bowl matchup against the Patriots. Especially cool if the Eagles actually go out and win the game. On the NFC side, I’ll pick the Eagles.

Hello! I’m back this year with BGN, as always, and I’ll have two review articles and two preview articles every week. Last year was the first year I’ve ever previewed games. There are a lot of statistical previews out there, but this one will always be film-based. I think my previews improved as the year went on, and it was cool to see stuff on Sunday that I had seen during the week. Hopefully we can hit the ground running this season.

The Eagles are still refusing to reveal their backup quarterback. The Commanders won’t know what hit them if — God forbid — Jalen Hurts has to leave the game! Snark aside, it’ll be interesting to see how the Eagles handle this four quarterback situations. We know Hurts is starting. Guessing Dalton is the backup to begin the season with McKee dressing as the emergency third QB? And then Payton is inactive … unless he’s able to help out on special teams? We’ll get more clarity on this front soon.

Yeah, he threw a lot of interceptions in training camp, but I don’t think any daily practice observer would describe his summer as a bad one. My feeling on him is that I’m not worried about Hurts. I’d be pretty surprised if he bottomed out because he offers a high floor. At the same time, I’m not expecting him to be MVP.
