Given that it started out as a web3 game developer with its TCG SkyWeaver, Canadian company Sequence isn’t a stranger when it comes to making interactive entertainment. Now, however, its focus is on providing other game developers with the tools and tech to make engaging blockchain games without having to handle complex web3 infrastructure. And that’s the background for its latest release, a single-player resource-focused builder called Flourish Islands.

Canadian outfit Bravo Ready has announced that it’s acquired Hexagon Studios’ mobile web3 game Honeyland. The terms of the deal weren’t announced. Running on the Solana blockchain, Honeyland has attracted a total of 300,000 lifetime users, although only around 4,000 daily active players. Singapore-based Hexagon previously raised $4 million on a $20 million valuation in 2023.

Approaching its third year, and with that Season 3, Mythical Games’ mobile American football game NFL Rivals is gearing up for big changes. Kicking off August 20th with a week-long training camp before all features go live on August 27th, the headline news is that NFL Rivals has become too difficult for new players to compete in, especially in terms of the overall power of the teams.

Fragment and Mystery Box holders will also be rewarded with tokens. Lumiterra is also now playable via browser.

Apple approves SaruTobi, the first mobile game with Bitcoin-powered IAPs
Launched on the App Store in 2013, but then banned for its use of Bitcoin, monkey flinging mobile game SaruTobi is back on iPhones, with the claim that it’s the first iOS game to integrate in-app purchases using Bitcoin. The technology works on ZBD’s Bitcoin-based payment system, which uses the Lightning network to enable fast, crypto micro-payments. Famously, satoshis are Bitcoin’s base currency unit, with 1 Bitcoin consisting of 100 million sats.
Gunzilla's GUN token is expanding to Solana
Currently only deployed on Gunzilla Games’ GUNZ blockchain, which runs on Avalanche, the GUN token is now expanding to L1 blockchain Solana, in what is described as a multi-chain strategy. Existing GUN tokens will remain on GUNZ and Avalanche unless users choose to bridge them to Solana from Thursday 10th July, but this is not mandatory. The move is somewhat surprising in light of Gunzilla building its own GUNZ infrastructure in order to streamline web3 experiences.
