News, Security Share July 3rd, 2026 Hi Opera users, Recently, an independent security researcher responsibly disclosed a vulnerability in Opera GX. The vulnerability, which has since been patched, took advantage of our mods functionality. After investigating the researcher’s findings, we took immediate action, and a fix is already in place. If you are running Opera GX version 130.0.5847.89 and later, you have received the fix as well. Browser security is something we take very seriously at Opera.

What are malicious code injections? you may ask. Basically, they are attacks that use social engineering to trick you into allowing attackers access to your system or sensitive data.

At Opera, user security is a top priority. That’s why today, we are excited to announce that Opera is the first major browser to introduce Paste Protect: a native defense measure against malicious takeover of your clipboard, which includes code injection attacks such as ClickFix.

Stable Share July 2nd, 2026 Hello! Opera 133 has been updated to version 133.0.5932.20. This update brings a Chromium upgrade to 149.0.7827.201 and delivers the first full rollout of Paste Protect. This update introduces Paste Protect, a dedicated defense against malicious takeover of your clipboard, which includes code injection attacks such as ClickFix.
