Rodney Keith Frazier, born Nov. 2, 1957, passed away June 22, 2026, following complications from diabetes. Rodney will be fondly remembered for his warm smile and the many jokes and stories he enjoyed sharing with those around him. Among his favorite joys in life were food and Alabama football. One of his proudest and most memorable claims to fame was earning the title of “National Moon Pie Eating Champion” in 1987.

James Ernest Tolbert, age 93, of Oneonta, passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord and Savior June 10, 2026. There, he was joyfully reunited with his beloved wife of 57 years, Anne Buckner Tolbert, whom he deeply loved and faithfully cherished throughout their marriage. Born July 4, 1932, James lived a life marked by service, faith, dedication, and love. He was a proud American patriot whose commitment to his country spanned more than four decades.

Clara Joy Moorer Adamson Bell went to Heaven peacefully on May 19, 2026, at age 95. She was born Nov. 2, 1930, grew up in Cleveland, and lived all her adult life in Birmingham. She was a long-time member of Lakewood Baptist Church. She is survived by her daughter Dianne Adamson Walters (Tom); her brother Conrad Moorer (Delene); four grandchildren; several great- and great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Calvin William Butler, age 84 of Holly Springs, passed away May 30, 2026. He retired from Birmingham Water Works, and he was land surveyor. He was also a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Blountsville. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Ann Dobbs Butler; parents Vurner and Vivian Butler; brothers Wayne Butler, Johnny Butler, and Jerry Butler.

Nedra Alice Murphree Green was born August 3, 1938, in the home of her parents, Homer and Elsie Murphree, growing up in the Mt. Ebell Community. She attended Rosa Elementary School, Cleveland High School, and completed her senior year at Oneonta High School following her marriage to Frank Jackson Green on May 13, 1955, at Center United Methodist Church.

Tuesday afternoon the Town of Blountsville released a statement in response to rumors involving Police Chief Joseph Ragan. Following is the statement signed by Mayor Michael Glass and the Blountsville Town Council: The Town of Blountsville announces that Police Chief Joseph Ragan is no longer an employee of the town. The Town takes all matters involving municipal operations, public trust, and accountability with the utmost seriousness.

Raymond Dale Bowman Raymond Dale Bowman, 86, of Oneonta, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, May 29, 2026, at his residence surrounded by his family. Raymond was born March 5,1940, in Blount County. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Frances Emelie (Golden) Bowman; his parents Lester and Mary (Jackson) Bowman; siblings Frank E.

Larry Virgil Glasscock, age 77, of Remlap, passed away peacefully at 3:10 a.m. May 18, 2026. Larry was born Oct. 11, 1948, on Pine Mountain in Remlap where he spent most of his life. He graduated from Locust Fork High School and was known by all who met him as one of the kindest men you could ever know. It would be hard to find anyone who did not love Larry Glasscock. Larry loved his family deeply, especially his wife, Jane Glasscock, whom he married in 1991.

c Frank Joseph Breck, Jr., age 69, of Remlap, passed May 19, 2026. Frank served in the USMC as a Corporal. He worked as a radiologist at UAB. He loved music, gatherings, and photography. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank J. and Marjorie Breck Brown; and stepfather Russell Brown. Burial at the Alabama National Cemetery will take place at a later time.

Edward Myrlon Phillips Edward Myrlon Phillips, affectionately known as “Mack,” age 93, of Altoona, passed away peacefully May 23, 2026. Edward was born June 4, 1932, in Al- abama. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, carrying himself with honor, integrity, and dedication. He was also a faithful member of Philadel- phia Baptist Church, where he cherished his faith and community throughout his life.
