Since our founding in 2013, we’ve produced over 700 videos and garnered more than 100 awards for clients such as Time Inc., Carnegie Corporation of New York, the higher education division of Pearson, the Food Network and marketing agencies or companies such as Siegel+Gale, T Brand Studio of The New York Times, Nike, and over 95 others.

Firebreak Receives Bushra Azzouz Impact Award at Portland Panorama
We’re proud to share that Firebreak has been honored with the Bushra Azzouz Impact Award at the 2025 Portland Panorama Film Festival. This special jury award honors Firebreak for its poetic approach to storytelling and its deep collaboration with its subjects, Brandon Smith and Royal Ramey, who met while fighting wildfires during incarceration and are now training the next generation of wildland firefighters.

Hello London, Brooklyn Calling In 2013, we opened the doors of Blue Chalk Media with the greeting “Hello from Brooklyn”. We chose this historic picture of the construction of the Manhattan Bridge, a stone’s throw from our offices in the Brooklyn neighborhood of “DUMBO”, as a metaphor for the bridges we were intending to build from an analog past to a future of rich digital media fed by innovative new business models.

Blue Chalk Media, a US-based, award-winning production company, has been acquired by the Auspicious Group, a new global creative services agency based in London. The Auspicious Group is led by three prominent creative services entrepreneurs from the UK: Co-CEO Rachel Pendered, Co-CEO Barnaby Cook, and Chair Mark Killick. The acquisition positions Blue Chalk to expand its capabilities to new markets while continuing to produce high-quality, human-centered stories.
New Blue Chalk Documentary “Firebreak” to Screen at Bend Film Festival
PORTLAND, OR, Aug. 23, 2024 - Blue Chalk Media is thrilled to announce that its newest documentary feature, Firebreak, will screen at the Bend Film Festival, which takes place from October 10th-13th, 2024, in Bend, Oregon. Directed and produced by Blue Chalk’s Co-Creative Director, Kenzie Bruce, Firebreak tells a powerful story of resilience and climate justice. The film follows Brandon Smith and Royal Ramey, two men who met fighting wildfires while imprisoned in California’s penal system.
