At half-time of the campaign (i.e. week three) our polling shows no signs of the Conservatives being able to narrow the gap to Labour. Instead, they continue to languish in the territory of their worst ever electoral performance, and a sub-100 seat return if these numbers are replicated on July 4th.

BMG Research has undertaken exclusive polling for The i newspaper. The polling covers topics including vote intention, leader satisfaction and Parties Performance in the General Election Campaign so far. With Farage’s return to the political fray, the Conservative’s electoral prospects look truly dire. If our result were repeated on July 4th, this would likely result in the Conservatives worst election result in their history, reducing them to fewer than 100 seats.

There has been much fanfare in the first week of the election campaign, but our polling shows little evidence of it making any difference in how the public intends to vote on July 4th.

BMG Research has undertaken exclusive polling for The i newspaper. The polling covers topics including vote intention, leader satisfaction and attitudes toward the Conservative Party Leadership. Key findings are: The Labour party lead is ahead by 16 points, with 41% saying they would vote for Labour and 25% saying they would vote Conservative. Reform UK share of the vote remains consistent at 14%; in line with their of the vote share last wave.

BMG Research has undertaken exclusive polling for The i newspaper. The polling covers topics including vote intention, leader satisfaction and policy plans. Key findings are: The Labour party lead is ahead in the polls by 18 points, the highest it has been during Rishi Sunak’s premiership. 43% say they would vote for Labour yet only 25% saying they would vote Conservative, both at -3% since January this year. Reform UK are recording their highest share of the vote at 14%, rising 1% since March.

The research aims to update the report (Journalists at Work) produced in 2018, which has guided the NCTJ's work on qualifications and training and, more widely, been a vital source of information about the journalism labour market.

BMG Research has undertaken exclusive polling for The i newspaper. The polling covers topics including vote intention, leader satisfaction, immigration and the Autumn Budget. Key findings are: The Labour party lead has increased to 17 points. A consistent 43% say they would vote for Labour, yet only 27% saying they would vote Conservative, a decline of 3 points since October. Reform UK are recording their highest share of the vote at 11%, an increase of 4 points since our last polling in October.
