Creel throws 4 of 5 TD passes to Williams as Jacksonville State beats Eastern Kentucky 49-7
JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Caden Creel threw four of his five touchdown passes to Jamill Williams to lead Jacksonville State to a 49-7 victory over Eastern Kentucky on Saturday night. Creel completed 21 of 28 passes for 327 yards and Williams made seven catches for 144 yards. Jalen Likely added 73 yards rushing on five carries for Jacksonville State (1-1). The Gamecocks built a 35-7 halftime lead.

(AP) — Nico Gramatica kicked four field goals and USF pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat Florida International 19-9 on Saturday night and give first-time head coach Brian Hartline a victory in a season opener for both teams. Hartline, longtime Ohio State assistant, replaced Alex Golesh, now Auburn's head coach. Leading 6-3, Tayvion Beasley's interception set the Bulls up at the Panthers' 35.
