BOOM found that the video is from April 25, 2026 when an Assam Rifles convoy forcibly entered Hoomi village in Manipur.

A video of a young man lighting a cigarette using a lamp inside a Shiva temple on Ranamandala Hill, in Andhra Pradesh is viral on social media with a false communal claim that he is Muslim. BOOM found that the video is from 2022 and the individual, named Vadde Eranna, is a resident of Virupapuram village in Kurnool, hailing from the Hindu community.

Three unrelated videos are circulating on social media with claims falsely linking them to the minor gangrape case in Rajasthan's Sri Ganganagar. BOOM found that the clips are from separate, older incidents in Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Bihar, and have no connection to the case in Rajasthan. The videos are being shared in the wake of an incident where a 13-year-old girl was allegedly gangraped by multiple men over five days in Sri Ganganagar.

A video showing protesters burning the Indian flag alongside American and Israeli flags is being shared on social media with a false claim that it shows a protest by Iranians. BOOM found that the video is from a Muharram procession that took place on June 25, 2026, in M.A. Jinnah Road, Karachi. Karachi's central 9th Muharram procession marks the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain. Thousands of mourners gather to participate in this procession.

An AI-generated video showing a burqa-clad woman firing at a man on a motorcycle who appears to be stalking her is being shared on social media with the false claim that it shows a real incident captured on CCTV. BOOM found several visual inconsistencies in the video, and an AI detection tool indicating it is synthetic. The Claim: The 10-second video is being shared with the false claim that it shows a woman firing at a harasser, causing him to flee the scene.

Two digitally altered videos are being shared on social media with the false claim that they show Upendra Dwivedi, former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and General Dhiraj Seth, current COAS, criticising the Centre’s decision to withhold casualty figures from Operation Sindoor. BOOM found that both videos have been digitally altered using AI-generated voiceovers. In the original videos, neither of them is commenting on Operation Sindoor.
