Smyrna’s Springhouse Theatre Company will present the powerful and visually stunning musical The Hunchback of Notre Dame this September, inviting audiences to experience a story of love, belonging, courage and redemption set against the breathtaking backdrop of medieval Paris. Shows are set for 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays Sept. 11, 12, 18 and 19; and 3:30 p.m. on Sundays Sept. 13 and 20.

Just over an hour from Murfreesboro, The Caverns has turned its unlikely natural concert venue into one of Tennessee’s most distinctive music destinations. Located in Pelham, beneath the Cumberland Plateau, the venue frequently brings world-class live music into its cave, while also offering an outdoor amphitheater, cave tours and camping. The result is a concert experience that can be considerably different from a night at a traditional music hall.

The Wood Brothers will return to The Caverns in Pelham, Tennessee, on Sunday, Aug. 23, bringing their blend of roots music, soulful folk, blues, jazz and adventurous Americana to the underground concert venue. The Nashville-based trio—brothers Oliver Wood and Chris Wood, along with drummer, percussionist and multi-instrumentalist Jano Rix—has spent nearly two decades developing its sound that can be difficult to pin to a single genre.

You’re driving down a Murfreesboro road and see a new camera set up on a black pole. What is it for? Are you being recorded? Whit’s Custard has opened at 4310 Veterans Pkwy. (near Franklin Road), in the building also housing Waldo’s, Vui’s and Tazikis. The growing regional chain, known for frozen custard made fresh daily, serves classic vanilla and chocolate flavors alongside rotating weekly specialties, custard sandwiches, scoops and shakes, floats, sundaes and “Whitser” concrete-style creations. Whit’s also offers plenty of gluten-free, vegan and zero-sugar options. This is Whit’s third Middle Tennessee location.

July 2026 Community Events Throughout July – Movies Under the Stars Movies Under the Stars runs through July 25 and is free for all ages. Bring your blankets or lawn chairs to this outdoor series featuring popular animated movies shown in various Murfreesboro parks. Movies begin at dark.

For decades, Clark Iron & Metal Co. has played a part in Murfreesboro's industrial, business and environmental landscape, helping recycle everything from scrap steel and aluminum to copper wiring, appliances and discarded vehicles.

A dessert and ice cream concept appears to be heading to Murfreesboro; crews working on the former Party Fowl building at 127 SE Broad St. say the space will soon become a Melt n Dip. Known for its upscale desserts, chocolate fondues, waffles, crepes and elaborate milkshakes, Melt n Dip locations have been expanding throughout the Eastern U.S. over recent years. Patrons can select fruits, brownies, eclairs, marshmallows and other items, and dip them in various kinds of melted Belgian chocolate.

Cledis Burger and Beer will open a restaurant in Murfreesboro at the former Boro Bar and Grill location at 1211 Greenland Dr. near MTSU. The Boro occupied the building for more than 40 years before closing in 2025. Cledis, which currently operates three additional locations in Nashville, will provide guests with indoor and outdoor seating and a covered patio, and will likely allow dogs, as do its other locations.
