There was a big hullabaloo about the Bucks acquiring Kasparas Jakucionis and the 13th overall pick in the draft (which became Nate Ament) from Miami. At the time, certainly, those were seen as two of the prime assets that Jon Horst was able to wrench out of the Heat’s hands. Accordingly, Bucks fans were hyped to watch both in action at Summer League. Unfortunately, both players experienced a good amount of struggles (along with some positive moments too, to be fair) in Vegas.
The holding point: Why Kasparas Jakučionis was a must-have in the Giannis trade Original
Make a short list of what matters for success in the NBA. Go on, do it. What did you muster? Chances are, you came up with some combination of shot creation, shooting, size, versatility, and defence. What if I told you that point guard Kasparas Jakučionis, acquired as part of the trade that sent Giannis to the Miami Heat, has them all?
Could the Bucks actually finish with a better record after the Giannis trade? Original
The Milwaukee Bucks are fresh off of a 32-50 season that saw them part ways with Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks traded Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat for a plethora of players that should get Milwaukee started on their rebuild. The haul they got for Antetokounmpo should set the Bucks up to be competitive for the upcoming season in terms of trying to finish with a better record than they did this past season.
Summer League Recap: Bucks 110, Hornets 91 Original
Nate Ament led Milwaukee to their first Summer League victory. The Milwaukee Bucks exterminated the Charlotte Hornets 110-91 tonight, picking up their first victory of Summer League. It was a game of runs for Milwaukee, which built a big lead early, blew it, then ultimately took things back to blowout territory down the stretch. Nate Ament led the Bucks with 23 points (Brayden Burries didn’t play), while Hannes Steinbach dominated for Charlotte with 27 points and 15 rebounds.
Bucks Reacts Survey: How does the Giannis trade package look now?
Having now seen Jakucionis and Ament play, even if only a little, has your opinion on the trade changed? Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NBA. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Bucks fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys. We are now three games into the Vegas Summer League, with the fourth coming tonight against the Charlotte Hornets.
Bucks linked to Peyton Watson Original
Jon Horst might not be done wheeling and dealing, with reports that the Bucks are interested in restricted free agent Peyton Watson of the Denver Nuggets.
Bucking the trend: Jaime Jaquez Jr.’s old-school game is exactly what Milwaukee needs
Jaime Jaquez Jr. isn’t your typical NBA player. Not in today’s league. He’s not a volume three-point shooter. He’s not a highlight-reel athlete. He’s not a lockdown defender. He’s not even a starter—at least, not yet. But he is a baller, in the purest sense of the word. And for that, the Bucks should count their lucky stars.
Summer League Recap: Suns 95, Bucks 88 Original
Milwaukee played its best game yet, but a poor close had them fall short. With some key guys out, the Milwaukee Bucks undoubtedly played their best game thus far in Vegas but lost 95-88 to the Phoenix Suns. Yet again, Brayden Burries starred for the Bucks with 23 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and four steals, while Khaman Maluach led the Suns with 21 points, 10 rebounds, and four blocks.
Coming home: The optimistic case for Tyler Herro Original
Fittingly, Tyler Herro used the song ‘Coming Home’ in his farewell video to the Miami Heat. On the same day, he also posted a drenched Bucks workout singlet to his Instagram story, along with a Twitter post reading “414” when the trade was announced in principle a few weeks ago.
Should Gary Trent Jr. get one more chance with Bucks? Original
Milwaukee Bucks guard Gary Trent Jr. is still trying to figure out his future after two seasons with the team. Trent Jr., 27, is a free agent still looking for a home for the upcoming season. Bleacher Report writer Dan Favale listed him as one of the top free agents still available. “Pure shooting guards don’t hold as much appeal these days. Gary Trent Jr.‘s value is also severely complicated by a down-bad 2025-26 campaign.
