I'm not good at intros. November was a hectic month. For only the second time in more than a decade, I didn't do NaNoWriMo. With my day job picking up and my deadline for Tiger Cult looming, I decided to cut myself some slack. If you missed my big announcement, I'll reshare it here: I got a publishing deal! DarkLit Press is publishing my adult horror novel Tiger Cult in the fall of 2023. Definitive release date TBD. The minute I know it, I'll share it with you.

In case you missed it, I got a book deal! I'll keep this one short and sweet. It's funny how such a major announcement can be just part of a normal day. Like, I still have to work and everything. The world doesn't stop! Bizarre. I've been waiting for such a long time to see my name in a Publishers Marketplace Deal Report. It may just look like a hideous screenshot, but to me, it's the realization of a dream. I'm on my way. As soon as I have more to share with you, I will.

Finally, we’ve reached my favorite month of the year. I can't tell y'all how excited I am for spooky season. It seems like the past several months have really flown by, but I'm grateful for that. I've had a tumultuous couple of months. Between Gabe getting diagnosed with a chronic condition and me finally getting an ADHD diagnosis, on top of day, job stuff and writing stuff—let's just say it's been a wild ride. The ADHD diagnosis is a huge relief, though. It’s nice to put a name to my struggles.

It's September first, which means it's officially spooky season. Sorry, I don't make the rules. I doubt anyone would be surprised to hear that fall's my favorite season. Since I was a kid, I've loved Halloween. Here are some of my favorite costumes over the years: I've already picked out my costume for this year, too. I'll be attending DragonCon this Saturday, which is where I'm planning to debut it. Stay tuned for pics.
