Here’s a quick roundup of stories you might have missed. Nanny McMusical A musical adaptation of Nanny McPhee will open in London in summer 2027. Oscar winner Emma Thompson penned the book and co-wrote the lyrics with Gary Clark (Sing Street), who also composed the music. Thompson wrote and starred in the 2005 film Nanny McPhee and its sequel, Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang.

Not unlike the Tony-winning musical comedy hit The Book of Mormon, Broadway veteran Derrick Williams has become something of a long-runner himself. Fittingly, he made his Broadway debut as a swing in the dance revue Swing! before going on to perform in fan-favorite shows like Aida and Wicked, eventually stepping out of the ensemble and into the role of Fiyero in the latter.

Moisés Kaufman and Amanda Gronich’s 2024 Pulitzer Prize finalist play, Here There Are Blueberries, will open on Broadway this fall. Conceived and directed by Kaufman, the show will begin previews on November 2 at the Barrymore Theatre and officially open on November 9. Additional information, including casting, will be announced shortly. Here There Are Blueberries follows a real-life mystery. In 2007, an album of Nazi-era photographs arrived at the desk of a U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum archivist.

SIX: The Musical will play its final Broadway performance on January 3, 2027. The musical is directed by Lucy Moss and Jamie Armitage, with a book and Tony-winning score by Toby Marlow and Moss. At the time of its closing, itwill have played 47 previews and 2,178 regular performances at the Lena Horne Theatre.

The complete cast for the North American tour of BOOP! The Musical is set. The musical, based on Max Fleischer’s beloved character, will kick off its 50-week tour at the West Herr Auditorium Theatre in Rochester, New York on October 3.
