This October, the acclaimed arts hub presents Freedom Riders: A Journey With No End in Sight. This bold theatrical concert reading confronts the unyielding cycle of racial injustice in America.

The recent controversy around Patti LuPone and Kecia Lewis, compounded by LuPone’s dismissive remarks about Audra McDonald and her derogatory name-calling toward Lewis, has sparked a renewed conversation on Broadway about race, privilege, and the power dynamics that shape the industry. The Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation is making waves in the theatre community by sponsoring a performance of the world premiere of Nia Akilah Robinson’s Push Party, presented by The Hearth. This special performance will occur on Thursday, June 20, at 7 p.m. at Theaterlab, 357 W 36th St, 3rd floor, New York, NY 10018. Excitement is brewing as Thornton Wilder‘s timeless classic Our Town prepares for its highly-anticipated revival on Broadway. Directed by Tony Award-winner Kenny Leon, this production features a stellar cast of 28 actors, each bringing their talent to breathe life into this iconic play. This marks a significant milestone as the first major Broadway production of this classic play in nearly 25 years.

The world of theatre and film mourns the loss of a legendary talent, Louis Gossett Jr., who passed away on March 28th, 2024. A trailblazer in Black theatre and cinema, Gossett’s career spanned over six decades, leaving an indelible mark on the industry and inspiring countless aspiring actors and actresses. Born on May 27, 1936, in Brooklyn, New York, Gossett discovered his passion for acting at an early age.

MCC Theater, under the leadership of Co-Artistic Directors Bernie Telsey and Will Cantler, along with Executive Director Blake West, has unveiled an exciting lineup of performers for Miscast24. The highly anticipated event is set to take place on Monday, April 15, 2024, at the prestigious Hammerstein Ballroom.
