Located in historic Providence, Rhode Island and founded in 1764, Brown University is the seventh-oldest college in the United States. Brown is an independent, coeducational Ivy League institution comprising undergraduate and graduate programs, plus the Alpert Medical School, School of Public Health, School of Engineering, and the School of Professional Studies.

Brown University has 51 doctoral programs and 32 master's programs. The broad scope of options vary from interdisciplinary opportunities in molecular pharmacology and physiology to a master's program in acting and directing through the Brown/Trinity Repertory Consortium.

Men’s Basketball Head Coaching Chair Mike Martin ‘04 Accepts Position at Michigan

Grace Calhoun '92 announced today that Men's Basketball Head Coaching Chair Mike Martin '04 has accepted a position at the University of Michigan after 14 years leading the Bears. "This is a bittersweet moment for us and for me," Calhoun said. "Mike Martin has been an institution here at Brown. Odimegwu Named a Preseason All-American by Stats Perform FCS 7/13/2026 10:00:00 AM | Football PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown senior defensive lineman Ike Odimegwu has been named a Third Team Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-American, the organization announced on Monday. Odimegwu was one of eight Ivy Leaguers to be named a preseason All-American. This marks the third time in the last six seasons a Brown player has earned Preseason All-America honors, joining EJ Perry in 2021 and Isaiah Reed in 2024.
Oshinskie Selected by the Brewers in Sixth Round of MLB Draft
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown rising senior Ryan Oshinskie was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the sixth round (192nd pick) of the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft on Sunday. Oshinskie is the 27th Brown alum to be selected in the MLB Draft, and the first to be drafted directly out of Brown since Reid Anderson in 2018. When Oshinskie makes his professional debut, he will become the 99th former Brown Bear to play professionally (the 92nd in affiliated pro ball).
