Two Bangladeshi men were charged for overstaying in the country after their immigration passes had expired. 25-year-old KHALILUR RAHMAN MASUM was sentenced to 5 months imprisonment and 3 strokes of whipping. His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam received in audience and junjung ziarah from the country's intending haj pilgrims. The ceremony took place at Istana Nurul Iman, 16th April afternoon. Also present was His Majesty's son, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office.

Various creative works were showcased by 73 final year students undertaking Diploma in Creative Industries at the annual exhibition, UBD Spectrum 2026: Archivia. Held at the Chancellor Hall, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, the exhibition served as a major platform for students to highlight their final year project before graduating. A local man was brought before the Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrates Court on 5 charges under the Excise Order 2006 for the offence of possessing 405 cartons and 151 packs of cigarettes of various brands; 68 vape pod units; 53 vape accessory units; 204 cans and 52 bottles of alcoholic drinks. 31-year-old MOHAMMAD SAFWAN BIN JAHIDIN pleaded guilty to all charges and was fined a total of 363 thousand Brunei Dollars or 36 months imprisonment in default. All contraband were seized to be destroyed.

The repair works of the raw water pump of the Mengkubau water treatment plant is currently being carried out.
