ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference has named David Bassity as senior vice president, communications, effective July 20, 2026. Bassity brings more than two decades of communications, media relations, and strategic storytelling experience across both professional and collegiate athletics.

Full Distinguished Scholar Recipient List ROSEMONT, Ill. - The Big Ten Conference announced Monday that 1,912 students on varsity rosters have earned the Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award. The list includes students from all 18 institutions, plus Johns Hopkins and Notre Dame and 41 sports who have recorded a minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.7 or higher for the previous academic year.
