Look, we’ve seen the “Batman gets his ass kicked” routine a million times, but Batman: Knightfall Part 1 actually makes you feel every single bruise. Instead of just throwing a giant meathead at the Caped Crusader right out of the gate, this thing plays out like a slow-burn stress nightmare—and it works shockingly well.

Overview: A transporter accident turns everyone but Spock into puppets as pirates invade the ship. Our Take(Spoilers): I haven’t watched a Star Trek show in a long time, so this was a sort of reintroduction to the series for me. It took me a bit of googling to get caught up on who these characters are, other than Spock. Everyone knows who Spock is, right? But let’s get into what worked for this episode and what didn’t.

Overview Before Kihachi can figure out how to fix the electric key, Kengo breaks down and confesses the secret he’s been carrying for the past three years. Our Take Picking up from the previous episode, the truth behind Seiroku’s fate is finally revealed through Kengo, whose lingering trauma and survivor’s guilt add an emotional layer to his character.

Overview Rentaro seeks out a rumored masseuse to help his surely exhausted girlfriends. Our Take Picking up from the previous episode, the latest installment introduces Rentarō’s fifteenth soulmate, Momiji Momi, a middle schooler whose passion for massage immediately makes her another eccentric addition to the Rentarō Family. Her unique personality creates plenty of opportunities for ridiculous situations and nonstop comedy, and she quickly proves to be a memorable new addition to the cast.

Overview: Following a successful summoning experiment, Nanahoshi offers Rudeus a reward. Our Take(Spoilers): Today is the day for graduation episodes, apparently. We had one graduation already with You, and I Are Polar Opposites, and we got another one here. Linia and Pursena have now graduated, but that’s not all; it seems that they have some beef with each other. They decide to have a duel to decide who will be the chief of their village and who will go on to other business ventures.

Overview: Lisa decides it’s time to have a conversation with Mari. She convinces Mari that it would be in Lara’s best interest to be with her to try to avoid turning into foam. Mari has to make a tough decision. Our Take: You might remember that when I first started reviewing this series, I wondered if it might be a yuri show. With the introduction of Luca, I started to think that maybe we were leaning more towards a traditional romance.

Overview: When Taira hears that Yamada has a girlfriend, he’s able to offer his honest congratulations. Later, in the middle of a conversation, Taira is assailed by his past trauma. After the last day of the school year, Taira and Azuma head to a local restaurant together. Azuma realizes that she doesn’t want to lose her connection to Taira as she, along with everyone else, prepares to face the new season.

Overview (Spoilers Below): To settle the score with Gayou, Reirin and Leelee head to the Ghost Festival ritual. Kin Seika, the hostess, performs a marvelous dance… Our Take: With Keigetsu refusing to meet with Reirin, the latter sets off with a new plan. Reirin and Leelee attend the Ghost Festival to return the hairpin to Seika, but given the former’s appearance, it won’t be as easy as it sounds. The only way for them to converse with Seika and find Gayou is through the festival’s art of dance.

Overview After gaining the trust of his allies, Yamimori takes action to fight the rampaging Kaii inside the sealed barrier. Makino and Akasaka also rechallenge the front lines to face the now-overpowered Kaii with harmonious teamwork and quick thinking. The dire situation demonstrates the skill and trust between Magical Girls and their engineers as the team marches onward with full hearts.

Overview The dueler who confronted Reiji is his own kin, and Shinji’s inner turmoil is about to erupt finally… Our Take Picking up from the previous episode, Black Torch puts a much stronger focus on Shinji as his past comes back to haunt him, and it further delves into his personal struggles that drive his actions. His confrontation with Reiji gives the episode a more emotional edge, revealing how years of pressure, insecurity, and resentment shaped their fractured relationship.
