The offensive line for the Buffalo Bills has been one of the team’s biggest strengths the last two seasons, but the 2024 offseason created an issue that the team was going to have to solve. The Bills were in a tough salary cap situation to where they needed to make some roster cuts that weren’t the most popular amongst the fanbase. One of those moves that they did was release Mitch Morse, who had been Josh Allen’s center since 2019.

When an NFL organization makes a big change, there tends to be other little changes that follow it. Typically, those changes involve moving on from a general manager, head coach, or quarterback. The Buffalo Bills were one of ten teams who were part of the head coach hiring cycle as they fired Sean McDermott just two days after their playoff exit loss to the Denver Broncos.

The 2026 season will feature the Buffalo Bills taking on some of the best teams that have some of the best players in the league. While Buffalo presents themselves as a challenge to others, they will also have their hands full. Even going up against some of the worst teams this season, the Bills will still have to deal with some of the top players that are on those teams.

If there is one player on the Buffalo Bills that faces a ton of pressure going into 2026, it’s wide receiver Keon Coleman, who is going into the third year of his rookie deal. Everyone knows the story with Coleman when it comes to his tenure with the Bills. He was drafted to help fill the void after Stefon Diggs was traded in 2024, but it’s been more disappointing than successful.

Everyone who watched the Buffalo Bills and Denver Broncos face each other in the playoffs last season saw what happened that resulted in Denver getting a miraculous win in overtime. There were plenty of miscalled (and not called) penalties, and a controversial interception call bounced in the right direction for the Broncos to eliminate the Bills. That loss ended up being Sean McDermott’s final game in Buffalo. Now, both teams will see each other again on Christmas Day in Denver.

The offensive line for the Buffalo Bills has been one of the best units that the team has had in recent memory, and no one can deny that. Are they the best unit in the entire league? No, but they are Top 10 at worst. There has been a lot of continuity and they have helped protect Josh Allen. In fact, they played a huge role in Allen winning his first MVP award from the 2024 season.

It’s very hard to look back in history and see what first-time rookie head coach has ever faced more pressure immediately than Joe Brady for the Buffalo Bills. Since 2017, the Bills have been a consistent playoff team under Sean McDermott and they have become championship contenders. However, after countless heartbreaks and failure to fix some major flaws, the Bills moved on from McDermott and now have Brady leading the show.

Despite the Buffalo Bills being one of the powerhouses of the NFL, a major reason why they are at that level is because of the presence of Josh Allen. Without him, the Bills wouldn’t be as successful as they currently are. Even though they do have some solid playmakers, Bills fans know that Allen is the one that keeps things going as smoothly as possible. No one can deny the fact that the Bills made some great additions this offseason despite all of the changes that they went through.

The 2026 NFL Draft featured the Buffalo Bills turning seven picks pre-draft and turning it into ten selections because of various trades that they made. Brandon Beane had a lot of pressure going into this draft to deliver a strong rookie class, especially after trading their original 2nd-round pick to the Chicago Bears to acquire DJ Moore. The Bills put another focus on drafting help for defense, as six of their selections were on defense.

During the offseason, well before training camp opens, there is nothing for fans to do but speculate. As is the usual case, Buffalo Bills fans are worried. The team was one play away from the AFC Championship game a season ago and largely returns the same roster in 2026. The defense is a heavy focus of the offseason given its shortcomings in recent years. The Bills need a few strong performances right out of camp if they hope to succeed under new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard.
