Review of television series “Yellowjackets” COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITY, BU CAMPUS – After much deliberation, it was time to start something new when selecting another series worth my $17.99 ad-free Netflix subscription. Stumbling upon the first season of Showtime’s television show “Yellowjackets,” it reminded this author of a similar story out of the Andes. “I started watching that show,” BU sophomore Gabriella Milne, 19, shares.

Some of those in particular look forward to catching up on television series they haven’t had the chance to binge.
Pride Festival in Stroudsburg
A Pride festival was held on June 1, in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania. There were food vendors, entertainment, and small businesses. As I was there, I noticed a lemonade stand that was donating 10% of their proceeds to help those that are homeless.
Hak4Kidz: Codes & Ciphers
Today, at the Bloomsburg University campus, there was an event called Hak4Kidz. This event was hosted by The Bloomsburg Children’s Museum and BloomCON. Hak4Kidz offers free STEM workshops for children and their families to attend. There are multiple different stations that offer critical thinking challenges and creative projects. The event was held in the Kehr Union Building in the Multipurpose Rooms A and B. While I was here, I specifically worked at a station called Codes and Ciphers.
Iowa Takes Away Protection from Trans Community
On Thursday, February 27, Iowa lawmakers passed a bill to remove protections from the civil rights code for transgender individuals. Protesters filled the state capitol to express solidarity with the trans community.
A Good Girls Guide to Murder Review
Image by: Alamy The popular streaming service, Netflix, released a show adaptation on the Good Girl’s Guide to Murder book. It was released on August 1st, 2024 and it was rated as 84% by watchers on Rotten Tomatoes. The protagonist, Pippa Fitz-Amobi, is played by Emma Myers, who is known for her role in the Netflix series Wednesday. The story follows Pippa as she plans to solve an alleged murder suicide from five years ago.
BUnow at the Spring 2025 Activities Fair
On January 29, the Kehr Union Student Building offered their activities fair for students. On-campus clubs and organizations gathered together in the Ballroom to recruit potential members for their clubs/organizations. The fair runs from 2:00-4:00 p.m.. BUnow received eight sign-ups from students. Those that signed up, wrote down their name and email to subscribe the emailing list for more information about meetings.
TikTok is Back After 12 Hours
President Elect Donald Trump is planning on issuing an executive order to further the time before the TikTok ban will happen. Trump stated in his recent Truth Social post that he will “extend the period of time before the law’s prohibitions take effect, so that we can make a deal to protect our national security.” He also stated that he wanted people to be able to access the inauguration on TikTok.
