A proposal to repurpose decommissioned New Routemaster buses into moveable playgrounds has won this year’s Davidson Prize. Called PLAYDECK, the winning project was conceived by R.U.A Studio, an interdisciplinary team comprising architects Ru Quan Phuah and Shaun Thomas, landscape architect and videographer Esther Yik Chi Chan, landscape architect and writer Carmen Du, and Jessica Huynh, all of WW+P Architects.

A team led by Carlo Ratti Associati, Park Associati, and Politecnica Building for Humans has won the international competition to redevelop the Main and Children’s Hospital at Spedali Civili in Brescia, Italy. The proposal reimagines one of Lombardy’s principal healthcare institutions as an integrated campus combining clinical care, medical research, education, and public space.

The Prix Versailles has unveiled its list of the world’s most beautiful emporiums for 2026. The list of seven emporiums “draw from the foundations of their brand’s history and culture, and from the emotions and expertise that, in dialogue with the environment all around them, have turned these places into hot spots for creation and inspiration,” according to Prix Versailles Secretary General Jérôme Gouadain.
