"We had a plan and we executed it" | Harkin reflects on a summer well spent
Fergal Harkin does not deal in hyperbole. So when the Sporting Director describes himself as "really, really pleased" with Wanderers' summer transfer business, it is worth listening. Speaking to Wanderers TV a fortnight after the window closed, Harkin reflected on a recruitment drive that touched almost every position in the squad and stretched the club's search across Europe, North America and Asia. "First of all, I'm glad it's over. It felt like it went on forever," he said.
Bonham Commits To Wanderers
Jack Bonham has signed a one-year contract extension with Bolton Wanderers. The goalkeeper joined the Whites from Stoke City in January 2026 and established himself as Steven Schumacher's number one almost immediately, making his debut in the derby victory against Wigan Athletic and holding the shirt for the rest of the campaign. "Easy decision," Bonham said. "Obviously off the back of the success we had last year, it was a no-brainer for me.

Gavin Bazunu has been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for the opening fixtures of their UEFA Nations League campaign. Heimir Hallgrímsson's side begin their Group B3 programme away to Kosovo on Thursday 24 September and face Israel three days later, before returning to Dublin to host Austria on Thursday 1 October and Israel on Sunday 4 October. It is Bazunu's first call-up since November 2025, when he travelled with the squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Portugal and Hungary.

Now it is time to properly introduce the versatile Mexican-American midfielder who joined the Whites during the summer and has been steadily establishing herself within Tom Cunniff’s squad. After missing a significant part of pre-season, Rodriguez has remained patient, worked hard on the training ground and gradually increased her involvement.

U21s Report | Millwall 0 Wanderers 3
Wanderers extended their lead at the top of the Professional Development League table with a resounding win in South London, writes Simon Marland. Julian Darby’s side overcame travel issues and a delayed kick-off to extend their 100 per cent record with a fourth successive victory. Millwall started the brighter and Luke Lomax made a great save in a one-on-one situation to deny a trialist and keep the scores level.
National Service
Club captain Eoin Toal returns to the international fold as the first two Whites receive a call-up by their countries. Toal missed Northern Ireland’s summer fixtures after being injured in last season’s League One play-offs but returns to Michael O’Neill’s squad for the start of a new Nations League campaign in an extended international break.
