REXBURG—After a historic run spanning several decades, BYU-Idaho's Center Stage will receive a rebrand. BYU-Idaho's Campus Entertainment series will be known as BYUI Live! beginning in the fall semester. Center Stage was originally created to bring fine art performances to campus, including violin and piano acts. It has expanded to include a wider variety of events in recent years, so the university felt it was time for a refresher.

One BYU-Idaho student is making an impact on the national stage—in powerlifting. Michelle Tomco, an 18-year-old sophomore at BYU-Idaho, already owns 36 state powerlifting records and ranks 1st nationally in her weight class. She joined USA Powerlifting, or USAPL, in 2024 and has competed in several local, state and national meets and events.
REXBURG— Families can attend the Idaho Falls Zoo to experience new summer fun through Eastern Idaho Public Health's “Parenting in the Wild,” a virtual scavenger hunt that leads guests to different exhibits to learn more about parenting and family dynamics through zoo animals.
Scrub seal treatments to preserve highways throughout eastern Idaho will begin today, according to the Idaho Transportation Department. Roadwork will affect several nearby routes, including State Highway 33 between Newdale and Sugar City, U.S. Highway 20 at the Sugar City Half Interchange, and U.S. Highway 20 south of St. Anthony. The transportation department said crews will work Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with some Saturday work scheduled.
Harry Potter may not be a Washington Wizard, but AJ Dybansta is. The former BYU star was selected by the Washington Wizards as the number one overall draft pick, making history for the BYU Cougars. Dybansta becomes the first player in program history and the fourth-ever Big 12 player to be drafted number one overall. REXBURG—This month is Idaho archeology and historic preservation month; the State Historic Preservation Office has chosen the theme of “Signs of Change” in an effort to preserve iconic and historical signage throughout Idaho. Outreach Historian Dan Everhart has worked with Idaho State Historic Preservation Office for the past eight years. As an architectural historian he specializes in documenting, researching, and photographing historic places.
