Jake Forster-Caskey will continue with Charlton next season after the club triggered a one-year extension in his contract. Forster-Caskey, who joined the Addicks in January 2017, was the club’s Player of the Year for the 2020/2021 season and explained how pleased he was to see his stay at The Valley extended. A complaint of discriminatory abuse by an individual in the Covered End was made to the referee, Sam Purkiss, by a Shrewsbury Town player during today’s game at The Valley. The game was delayed for a period of time after the referee informed the club’s safety officer that he wouldn’t re-commence the game until the two individuals had been removed from the stadium. An individual has been arrested by police and is in custody. The club are supporting the police with their investigations.

Charlton Athletic and Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) are set to help raise much-needed funds for the relief effort in Ukraine ahead of Friday’s game against Morecambe. Working alongside London Football Scene and the Association of Ukrainians in Great Britain (AUGB), there will be bucket collections around The Valley prior to the League One fixture with all money raised going to British-Ukrainian Aid (registered charity No. 1164472).

Charlton are delighted to confirm the deadline-day signing of attacking midfielder Scott Fraser from Ipswich Town for an undisclosed fee. The 26-year-old has proven quality in League One, scoring 20 goals and recording 20 assists during the past two-and-a-half years.
