The Los Angeles County Museum of Art was established as a museum in 1961 and is the largest art museum in the western United States. Originally part of the Los Angeles Museum of History, Science and Art founded in 1910, it became its own separate, art-focused institution and opened to the public in 1965 on Wilshire Boulevard. Since then, both the campus and the collection has grown and changed, with the addition of new buildings, acquisitions, bequests and works of art.

New Student Orientation at Cal Lutheran is a multi-day program designed to welcome and support incoming first-year and transfer students as they transition into the Cal Lutheran community. Through a series of engaging activities, workshops, and social events, students become familiar with campus resources, academic expectations, and student life.

Join us for an evening of organ music with Adán Fernández, DMA, Cal Lutheran’s university organist and interim director of choral activities. A versatile performer, conductor, scholar and educator, Fernández brings extensive experience in sacred music and historically informed performance to his work at California Lutheran University and beyond. This free recital will showcase Fernández’s artistry and the rich range of sounds offered by the magnificent organ in Samuelson Chapel.

The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office and California Lutheran University today announced the future home of the East County Family Justice Center will be on the campus of California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. The Ventura County Board of Supervisors approved the lease agreement for a building located at 26 Faculty St. on Aug. 4, 2026, paving the way to expand critical services for victims and survivors throughout East Ventura County.

For over 20 years, Rachel Guettler, EdD, has built her career in philanthropy, student enrollment and leadership coaching. She will bring this expertise to her new position as the vice president for growth and advancement at California Lutheran University. Guettler will start Aug. 17 as the senior leader responsible for advancing the university’s enrollment strategies and leading institutional growth through fundraising, partnerships and external engagement.
