NBC’s coverage of negotiations over a plan to ultimately rid Hamas of its weapons continues to be problematic. In at least two instances now, the outlet has presented Hamas’ agreement on disarmament as an unqualified factual description of the group’s own stated position. This comes despite a CAMERA correction request.

The toxic libel by Palestinian Muslim extremists that “Al-Aqsa Mosque is in danger,” and Jews are to blame, has been used to incite antisemitic violence for over a century. So, it’s not surprising that Hamas leaders named their Oct. 7 invasion and massacre in southern Israel “Al-Aqsa Flood,” creating the false rationale that the mass murder, rape, torture and mutilation on that day was an act of defense against a putative Israeli scheme to destroy or take-over the mosque.

This August 9, 2026, Op-Ed by CAMERA’s Shay Khatiri appeared in Jewish National Syndicate. “After the 2024 election, Democratic strategists argued that what the anti-Trump coalition needed was a ‘Joe Rogan of the left,’” wrote Andrew Marantz for The New Yorker on March 17, 2025. The piece was neither an examination of the candidates nor an autopsy of the 2024 presidential race. It was a profile of streamer Hasan Piker. Born in New Jersey to Turkish immigrants, Piker spent his childhood in Istanbul.

Were Judea and Samaria – also known by most western media audiences as the “West Bank” – ever Palestinian territory? Did Israel capture this territory from the Palestinians? Is the West Bank currently designated Palestinian territory? NPR has repeatedly misled its audience to believe all three answers to these questions are “yes,” when this is simply not the case.

We complained last week to the Independent about an egregiously misleading article  suggesting that the Temple Mount/Al-Aqsa Mosque Compound is solely a Muslim holy site, erasing that it’s Judaism’s holiest site.

Famously, the slogan “All the News That’s Fit to Print” graces the front page of every New York Times edition. The slogan was coined at the end of the 19th century by the paper’s publisher, Adolph Ochs. Of course, in today’s hyper-globalized world, the slogan is wishful thinking. No paper could realistically cover all the important news stories of the day.

There’s an old journalism maxim, “consider the source.” Investigators should not only ask “what happened?” but also “who is telling us what happened?” NBC, CNN, and AP all seemingly overlooked that principle in their coverage of a recent funeral in Gaza, relying on a member of Hamas moonlighting as the spokesperson for a search and rescue organization for their stories without disclosing that association.
