After previewing the exhibits, this first installment takes a closer look at Outsiders, Outcasts, Rebels, and Weirdos: Punk Culture 1976–86. Opening during the 50th anniversary of punk music in the United States, the exhibition explores the connective tissue of punk by tracing influential music scenes across both the U.S. and the United Kingdom.

The Getty Center is pleased to announce the opening of Trellis Bar & Lounge, a relaxed outdoor venue offering a curated menu of handcrafted cocktails and mocktails, wines, and light bites. Located near the Museum’s entrance hall, Trellis Bar & Lounge is open Tuesday through Sunday from 2pm to 6:30pm, with extended hours until 8:30pm on Saturdays. No reservations are required.

Campus Circle - Cal State LA ranks No. 1 in upward mobility in California Mobility Index rankings
Cal State LA has again been recognized as the top university for upward mobility. The university was named No. 1 in the state in the inaugural rankings of the California Mobility Index (CMI), which was unveiled by the College Futures Foundation and the research agency HEA Group on Thursday, Feb. 20. The Opportunity Insights based at Harvard University (formerly known as the Equality of Opportunity Project) also ranked Cal State LA No. 1 nationally in upward mobility.

After months of promising major changes to its personnel operation, USC hired a general manager for its football program. Chad Bowden, after spending the previous three years at Notre Dame, was hired Friday as USC's general manager. "Chad is the perfect fit to help us build and sustain a championship-level football program in the new era of college athletics," USC athletic director Jen Cohen said in a statement.
Campus Circle - UCLA throws its athletic department a $30 million lifeline, but deficit deepens
Even a major infusion of cash from UCLA could not prevent its athletic budget crisis from deepening. In a departure from previous years, when it provided negligible direct institutional support, the school gave its athletic department $30.06 million during the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024. But the Bruins' yearly deficit of $51.85 million reflected their ongoing challenges in balancing their budget amid a rapidly changing college sports landscape.
