According to Canalys (part of Omdia), India’s PC market (excluding tablets) grew 6% year on year in Q2 2025, reaching 3.6 million units. Notebook shipments led the growth, rising 8% to 2.7 million units, driven by strong enterprises and AI-ready devices. Desktop shipments were stable, edging up 1% to 861,000 units. However, the tablet market fell sharply, down 27% to 1.2 million units due to weaker government procurement.

According to Canalys (part of Omdia), shipments of wearable bands in Mainland China reached 33.9 million units in H1 2025. This represents a remarkable growth of 36%, building on a 33% increase in H2 2024. This surge marks the highest number of H1 shipments ever recorded for wearable bands in Mainland China, establishing a new market benchmark. Basic bands saw an impressive 80% growth, making them the fastest-growing category and a major contributor to strong market performance in Mainland China.

The latest data from Canalys, part of Omdia, shows that the Mainland China PC market (excluding tablets) grew by 12% in Q2 2025, to 10.2 million units. Both consumer and commercial PC demand were healthy, with shipments to each segment rising 13% and 12%, respectively. This uplift was driven by ongoing consumer subsidies and strong procurement activity from state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and the government.

Smartphone shipments into Europe (excluding Russia) fell by 9% to 28.7 million units in Q2 2025, according to Canalys (now part of Omdia). A restrained consumer and economic outlook is still limiting demand, making Europe the worst-performing smartphone region worldwide in Q2. On the vendor ranking table, Samsung sustained a confident lead, despite declining 10% year on year to 10.3 million units.

Samsung defended its dominant lead, growing 8% year on year to 11.0 million units. The Galaxy A06 and A16 models comprised over 60% of Samsung’s shipments, underscoring the importance of affordability in reaching volume scale. Xiaomi held second place, growing 8% with a record shipment of 6.7 million units.

This growth was powered by easing inflation in key markets, such as Egypt, Nigeria and South Africa, and currency stability strengthening consumer buying power.

The rebound was powered by value-conscious buyers, festive season spending and strong economic momentum, positioning the region for continued expansion in smartphone shipments despite geopolitical headwinds.

According to the latest research from Canalys, part of Omdia, Southeast Asia’s smartphone market declined 1% year on year in Q2 2025 to 25.0 million units, as tariff uncertainty continues to cloud the region’s outlook. Xiaomi reclaimed the top spot for the first time since Q2 2021, shipping 4.7 million units and capturing a 19% market share, up 8% from a year ago, driven by strong Redmi series sales and expanded channel reach.

This strong performance was primarily driven by healthy demand in China and EMEA. Meanwhile, the Chromebook market enjoyed a significant boost from the ongoing refresh of education devices under Japan’s GIGA School Program, which helped propel shipments to 11 million units in the first half of the year.

Samsung was the largest vendor in Q2, shipping 57.5 million smartphones, up 7% year on year. Its performance was largely driven by its mass market-focused Galaxy A series. Apple finished second on the vendor ranking table, with iPhone shipments down 2% at 44.8 million units.
