Warning over spike in child burns from instant noodles
School holidays have led to a spike in children suffering scalding burns from instant noodles, prompting a warning from a major NSW hospital. Five children have been referred to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in the last week after sustaining scald burns from instant noodles. Another five were treated for the same mishap earlier in October.

Various theories (often simplistic) have been advanced: that an interest in Rome is a safe space for macho fantasies (thank you, Mary Beard), or that it is linked to white supremacism.

Collingwood have claimed a record-equalling 16th premiership with a thrilling four-point win over the Brisbane Lions in the AFL grand final.
