MARY RICHMOND PHOTO There’s something about September that brings both sighs of relief and smiles of happiness. The roads are less crowded, the beaches are ours again, and we can venture back into our favorite restaurants without a long wait. The air is cooler and crisper in the mornings and warmer in the afternoons but not suffocatingly hot. People are happy to see each other again and catch up, and all around us nature is quietly changing her palette.

BREWSTER -- Police are investigating after two drivers died in a two-vehicle accident on Main Street Thursday night. First responders were called to Main Street near Crosby Lane just after 9:30 p.m. "Upon arrival, responding personnel located two motor vehicles that had been involved in what appeared to be a head-on collision," a Brewster Police news release reads. Both drivers were alone in their respective vehicles.
