The law offers federal partnership and incentives for communities to build more housing without mandating local zoning changes. Massachusetts has issued an emergency order restricting shore-based white shark fishing on Nantucket. An angler whose video of catching a white shark went viral supports the new safety regulations. The rule prohibits using large hooks with long wire leaders, but still allows fishing for other shark species. Over half a million people saw the reel and more than 12,000 people "liked" the post.

Most Provincetown restaurants featured in the Anthony Bourdain biopic "Tony" are still open to the public. The Flagship, where Bourdain worked as a dishwasher, is now a private residence.
