Adobe has introduced a series of workflow updates and generative tools to Photoshop, aiming to reduce repetitive tasks while expanding non-destructive editing options. The new features focus on lighting adjustments, contextual masking, design flexibility, and a dedicated AI-assisted editing environment. Light Adjustment Layer: Adds dedicated tone and lighting controls – including Exposure, Contrast, Highlights, Shadows, Whites, and Blacks – directly into a standard adjustment layer.

Twenty-five years after witnessing the fall of the Twin Towers first-hand, Sydney photographer and founder of The Photo Studio Australia, North Sullivan, is set to reveal a profound, previously unexhibited body of work documenting the immediate aftermath of September 11. Titled When The Dust Settled, the exhibition brings together 186 black-and-white street photographs captured across the week following the attacks.

Apple has announced a new generation of its compact Mac mini desktop, with the company focusing heavily on AI performance and creative workflows. The new Mac mini is available with either the M6 or M5 Pro chip, with Apple claiming up to four times faster AI performance and twice the graphics and storage performance compared with the previous M4 model. CPU performance is also up to 40 per cent faster. For photographers, the M5 Pro version is the more interesting option.

After nineteen years of helping define Australian contemporary portraiture, the National Photographic Portrait Prize (NPPP) is officially drawing the curtain on an era. Taking out the top honour this year is Melbourne-based artist Nathan Beard for his arresting, deeply intimate work, Mae Khong.
