As HVAC/R systems become increasingly connected, cybersecurity is emerging as an essential concern. The European Union is addressing this challenge through several initiatives, including the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which mandates cybersecurity requirements for products with digital elements placed on the EU market. This is particularly relevant for the HVAC/R sector, where many products fall within the scope of the CRA - from fridges and heat pumps to building management systems.

CAREL has partnered with Conela Refrigeração in the development of the DEMETRA line, an innovative range of cooling units designed for the climate-controlled storage of seeds. In the Brazilian market, where seed quality is a key factor in agricultural productivity, ensuring stable and controlled environmental conditions is essential. CAREL solutions enable temperature, humidity and air quality to be maintained within optimal parameters, preserving seed vigour and germination capacity.

In December 2025, Alessandro Catani was appointed Managing Director of Alfaco - CAREL Poland, Polish company of the Group. Catani joins CAREL following extensive international experience in the financial and industrial sectors, gained across Italy and Poland.
