Women’s Lacrosse: For the 14th time in program history, the Colorado College women’s lacrosse team is heading to the NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Tournament and will host Rhodes College in the second round. After winning the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) title and earning the conference’s automatic bid, the Tigers are in the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season.

With the opening whistle set for June 11 at Mexico City’s storied Estadio Azteca, the 2026 FIFA World Cup is weeks away from kicking off the most expansive tournament in the sport’s history. Spanning 16 host cities across the United States, Canada and Mexico, this summer’s 48-team field is the largest ever assembled. With that in mind, here are some of the storylines, standouts and dark horses worth keeping an eye on when the action kicks off this summer. Champion: Obie and Zaid: England.

Welcome to this year’s final edition of The Circuit. Even though we’ve only been at it for two blocks, reporting on intramurals has been a great joy for us this spring. Accordingly, we are just this once allowing ourselves the joy of being more than a little bit subjective as we tell you about our predictions for the winners in lieu of the ability to time-travel and report on which teams actually took home the shirts.

After completing their final games at Western Michigan University with two losses in the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) quarterfinal, the Tigers ended their season with more losses than wins. The win-loss-tie record ended at 13–17–6. Following the end of the season, four Tiger players were awaiting transfers in the months that followed. The portal was open from April 13 through 27, with players committing to schools before and after the portal closed.

Sophomore year is one of those in-between years. You have your friends, and yet social dynamics are still shifting. You know the campus, but maybe you haven’t found where you want to dedicate your time. You know what parties you enjoy attending, and yet you still might drink too much alcohol, doomed to spend your night over a trash can. In the name of honesty, I fell into a bit of a sophomore slump. However, I was not alone in facing this classic and well-known phenomenon.

As we conclude the 2025-26 academic year, The Catalyst would like to recognize the best of our Colorado College community. Over the past week, we invited students to nominate their favorite businesses, clubs, organizations and places, concluding final voting based on the initial nominations.

As Co Editor-in-Chief of the Catalyst, I’ve spent the last year and a half reading hundreds of news articles. Some have been about Colorado College, surrounding topics like enrollment, housing and school leadership. Some have been about local politics and propositions, and some have given perspective on overarching federal policies. In this edition, our news section will look slightly different. For one, because there isn’t any blaring hard news to report.

When I started this column several fortnights ago, I was guided by a simple goal: to provide CC students with helpful information about different coffee shops around the Springs, so that they too could enjoy and support the businesses in the area.

April 28 was a Tuesday. And like many Tuesdays in my last two years of Tuesdays, it wound down amidst a throng of young people shooting the breeze under the Midwestern bricolage of Tony’s bar. Cheers erupted as an East Coast hockey player scored on TV. Trivia teams huddled around tables and tried to remember who made that print of the big blue wave. Adele Davis ‘26 proved her skeptics wrong and slammed a jar of marinara in under a minute.

When I was younger, I wanted to be an author. I had binders full of stories, written on notebook paper in thick No. 2 pencils. I brought notebook paper with me everywhere, writing whenever inspiration struck. On rare occasions, my mom would get out her old MacBook, open Microsoft Word and the folder labeled “Lilly,” and I’d spend hours typing out my stories. By the time I got to middle school, I’d lost interest in fiction writing.
