Robert King - Christian County Headliner News
Robert King, age 83, passed away on July 7, 2026. Our beloved "Bob"'s wish to pass peacefully in his sleep at home was fulfilled after a brave two-year battle with cancer. Bob lived in Nixa for the past 35 years with his family after moving from St. Louis. He attended Kirkwood High School and the University of Missouri (Mizzou) before joining the United States Air Force in 1962 during the Vietnam era. He served in the intelligence sector. Bob loved spending time outdoors with family and friends.

Posted 7/15/26 Eighty-one veterans returned home to a hero’s welcome from throngs of supporters after a day-long trip to Washington D.C., courtesy of Honor Flight of the Ozarks (HFO), on Tuesday, July 7. During the trip, the veterans had the opportunity to view monuments including the World War II Memorial, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, the U.S. Marine Corps Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery.
