The U.S. Outpatient Influenza-like Illness Surveillance Network (ILINet) monitors outpatient visits for respiratory illness referred to as influenza-like illness [ILI (fever plus cough or sore throat)], not laboratory-confirmed influenza, and may capture respiratory illness visits due to infection with any pathogen that can present with similar symptoms, including influenza, SARS-CoV-2, and RSV.

ATSDR released a report on hydrogen sulfide in outdoor air in the Tijuana River Valley. ATSDR is asking for public comments by November 21, 2026. CDC Data Show Encouraging Progress in Youth Health
Today CDC released new data highlighting recent improvements in mental health and dietary behaviors among U.S. high school students. Today's new report, Youth Health in Focus, provides a snapshot of the health and well-being of high school students. The report describes national Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) data from 2023 to 2025, as well as 10-year trends from 2015 to 2025.
Transportation Walking Among US Adults With and Without Transportation Insecurity, 2022 National Health Interview Survey
Summary What is already known on this topic? Transportation has implications for health and well-being, and walking can be a healthy, low-cost mode of transportation. Transportation insecurity, or the lack of safe and convenient access to reliable transportation, is a public health problem that limits access to important community resources. What is added by this report? Approximately 5% of US adults reported transportation insecurity. About 16% of adults walked for transportation.
Rural–Urban and Appalachian Disparities in Geographic Access to Colonoscopy and Screening Prevalence Across the Contiguous US
Summary What is already known on this topic? Rural and Appalachian communities have a higher incidence of colorectal cancer and a lower prevalence of screening; distance and specialist shortages may limit access to colonoscopy. What is added by this report? We found only modest differences in geographic access to colonoscopy providers by rurality or Appalachian designation and no significant association between access and screening prevalence.
