Registration is open for three CERIC webinar series running through October, covering leadership in career and employment centres, culturally responsive Indigenous recruitment and retention, and supporting autistic clients in career counselling. Two are offered in English and one in French.

The Cannexus27 program has now been released for the conference taking place January 25–27, 2027 at the Rogers Centre Ottawa and online. The program includes more than 150 education sessions to help you respond to economic volatility, AI disruption and the shifting ground under how people learn, work and move through career transitions.

Practice Principles: Career Theories and Models at Work provides career development practitioners with theory-informed principles for everyday application. It is a follow-up to the popular Career Theories and Models at Work: Ideas for Practice book. The new book fills a gap in the field that addresses foundational career practice principles, ensuring that techniques used by practitioners are underpinned by actual theory.

CERIC is pleased to announce Keka DasGupta as the new Chair of its Board of Directors for a two-year term. DasGupta, founder of the Art of Life-ing and Chief Marketing Advisor at Challenge Factory, will lead the Board as CERIC delivers on its 2026–2030 Strategic Plan. DasGupta has volunteered with CERIC since 2017, most recently as Vice-chair, where she advocated for national workforce strategies and helped shape the launch of CERIC’s Career Myth Buster quiz.

The new issue of the Canadian Journal of Career Development, Canada’s only peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to career development, has published Volume 25, Number 2. The issue carries 12 articles from researchers in Canada and internationally, including three published in French. Artificial intelligence runs through several contributions. Careers Without Barriers: Building Practitioner Readiness for Disability-Inclusive Career Developmentis a one-year project, funded by CERIC and led by the Canadian Association for Supported Employment (CASE), a national association of community-based employment service providers and their provincial/ territorial associations, employers and interestholders working towards the employment inclusion of persons with disability.
