Claude Fable 5 is back, and right now it is the most capable model you can use. You don’t have long with it though. It’s included in your Claude plan until 7 July, then it moves to pay-as-you-go credits. While you have it, don’t run it like a smaller, older Claude with a bigger context window. It’s more powerful, but that’s not the point. The point is loops. One of them ran on this very edition. It built a rubric from my 110 past editions, caught this draft at 51/100, and rewrote it until it passed.

It interviewed me on my business and my content. Every answer cited the exact episode it came from. Then I handed it my LinkedIn analytics, my Substack stats, and my content numbers. It found the gap in 30 seconds. I reach 500k+ people a week and I own almost none of them. My followers are LinkedIn's, not mine. You can do this two ways. Clone an expert’s thinking and it mentors you. Clone an expert’s workflow and it works for you. By the end of this newsletter, you will have built both.

Quick update before you start. Since I wrote this, Anthropic pulled Claude Fable 5. The official reason is a US government national-security order. The unofficial reason is that it was simply too powerful to be left unsupervised. Everything below still works, just pick Opus 4.8 instead of Fable 5 when you switch models. Claude Code is brilliant at building things that work and terrible at making them look good.

There are three levels of Claude automation. Level 1 runs from one command. Level 2 runs it on a schedule you set. Level 3 runs everything else. Most people never get past zero. 6 weeks ago, I co-wrote a newsletter called a newsletter about Claude Code. I called it “Beginner to Advanced”. I was the beginner… Six weeks later, I am still not the advanced one. But Claude Code now runs about 80% of my content business. I f*cking love Claude Code. Claude Code is genuinely easy. The CLI (Command Line Interface) is just another text box. You type what you want. Claude does it. That is how it works. The fear is the only thing in your way.

Within 48 hours, his X thread about it hit 16 million views. It was 1,500 words with no code or repo. An idea file describing how to build a personal knowledge base with an LLM and a folder of markdown. I’ve been building something similar for the last few weeks.
