Director Chandler Levack Gets Personal for Mile End Kicks
Sometimes digging into your past unearths gold. That gold is writer/director Chandler Levack’s semi-autobiographical film Mile End Kicks, a coming-of-age, rom-com set in Montreal in 2011. The movie casts Barbie Ferreira as Grace Pine, a 24-year-old Toronto music critic who packs her bags for Montreal with a contract to write a book about Alanis Morissette’s breakout album Jagged Little Pill. She’s also determined to fall in love, have meaningful sex, and learn French.
