Join 91.7 WVXU and 90.9 WGUC for a Silent Disco on Friday, August 28, from 5:00–9:00 p.m. during the Cincinnati Art Museum’s Art After Dark: Into Infinity event! Dance the night away to the beat of your own drum by tuning in to one of several high-energy music channels featuring mixes inspired by renowned DJs from around the world. This fun, interactive experience lets you choose the soundtrack to your evening.

It’s hard to believe it’s been one year since we opened the Scripps Family Center for Public Media in Evanston. We’ll be celebrating with a community open house on Saturday, April 25, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Everyone is invited to stop by for a look at our state-of-the-art, environmentally friendly building, meet some of the on-air and behind-the-scenes staff, enjoy great music performances from a variety of arts and culture partners, and have some fun for the kids.

Rodney Lear joined the Cincinnati Public Radio staff a few weeks ago; he’s a radio veteran with over 30 years of experience. Rodney hosted a public affairs radio show and executive-produced interviews with government officials, community leaders, international artists and celebrities. He has experience in national radio sales and community outreach. As the Events and Volunteer Coordinator Rodney manages both internal and external events for CPR.

Miriam Ali, an ensemble singer from the Hamilton musicale, stops by the studio to perform her original song “I Love You So”. Making her Broadway national tour debut, Sheherazade performs “If You Believe” from the hit musical The Wiz. Sheherazade, who plays Glinda in the national tour, brings a dynamic background in theatre, television, and music, having performed with artists like Christina Aguilera and Chaka Khan. A groundbreaking twist on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, The Wiz has transformed Broadway with its iconic blend of soul, gospel, rock, and 70s funk.
