CIUT-FM is a campus and community radio station owned and operated by the University of Toronto. The station broadcasts live and continuously from Toronto on the 89.5 FM frequency. Programming can also be heard nationally via channel 826 on Shaw Direct, and over the internet via the CIUT website. The station is financially supported by donations and an undergraduate student levy.[1] CIUT-FM also broadcasts a Punjabi and Urdu language station, Sur Sagar Radio on a Subsidiary Communications Multiplex Operation frequency. Through guest DJ sets, artist interviews, event previews and reviews, emerging artists share the same platform with established ones creating a unique experience challenging the status quo in radio.
Tuesday 10:00pm-11:00pm Howl welcomes authors, poets, scriptwriters and songwriters. Host: Valentino Assenza Valentino Assenza has been a published poet and performing spoken word artist for over the last two decades. In that time he has released four chapbooks and performed all over Canada and the US. Valentino has been a co-host and co-producer of HOWL on CIUT 89.5FM, where he has interviewed names such as George Elliott Clarke, Anne Michaels, Denise Donlon, Ron Sexsmith, and Margaret Atwood.
Wednesday 11:00am-12:00pm Since 2006, we’ve broadcast unrehearsed and informative conversations featuring extraordinary career stories of ordinary people, and insights from future-of-work thought leaders including National Geographic explorer-in-residence Wade Davis, former Member of Parliament, Helene Leblanc, and career experts Sareena Hopkins, Norm Amundson, Roberta Borgen, Rich Feller and many more.

With support from donors we are able to offer workshops, maintain our facilities and resources for training students and community volunteers.
